The sudden and unexpected passing of WWE superstar Eddie Guerrero on November 13th 2005 shocked the world. Eddie was in the prime of his career, working a main event programme against top star Batista. That he would die in the middle of it was unfathomable and totally unexpected. WWE put their storylines on hold to present a pair of Eddie Guerrero tribute shows. The wrestlers gave heartfelt testimonials about Eddie and Vince led a ten-bell salute. It is the visual of WWE Champion John Cena placing the title beneath a t-shirt bearing Guerrero's name, symbolically referring to Eddie as a Champion, that really produced chills on the night.
