18. Fatal Four-Way Tag Team TLC - 7/10/02
When lists of the finest Tables, Ladders & Chairs matches are drawn up, this one very rarely makes the list. The reasons for this are many, the main one being that the draft lottery earlier in the year had meant a total changing of the face of the roster. The three teams who had made the format famous weren't in the match, although one member from each did participate with a new partner. Christian found a new Canadian in Chris Jericho, Bubba Ray Dudley kept it in the family by tagging with Spike Dudley, and Jeff Hardy stayed on the extreme side of things by joining forces with Rob Van Dam.
It is also forgotten because of what happens afterwards (more on that later), but in many ways this match showcased everything that made Kane a great big man wrestler back in the day. The Big Red Machine was one half of the tag champions going in, but his partner The Hurricane was taken out before the match. Kane was forced to go it alone, and go it alone he did.
The pace was frantic and the memorable spots numerous, but Kane still managed to come out on top. This match deserves a little more clout when it comes to talking about TLC matches. It also happens to be the longest tag team TLC match in history, clocking in at over 25 minutes.
One extra mention here for Jim Ross, who calls the entire match alone and does an incredible job.
