12. Shoguns

Now here's a short-lived pairing.

Former ECW Tag Team Title challenger Jinsei Shinzaki joined up with WWE in 1994. He became Hakushi, a Buddhist pilgrim who dressed only in white, performed prayers in the ring, and wrestled with Buddhist shakyo symbols etched onto his skin. Originally accompanied by a facepaint-wearing cultist named Shinja, Hakushi spent most of his time taking care of jobbers (including a young Matt Hardy), but struggled to break out as a singles star.

Enter Kwang the Ninja, or: Savio Vega under a mask. Seemingly thrust together as they were both playing Asian characters, Kwang and Hakushi started calling themselves "Shoguns," but their union lasted just a couple of matches.

In April 1995, a few weeks after forming, Shoguns lost to The Smoking Gunns when Kwang wiped Hakushi out with a leg Lariat. The duo imploded immediately afterwards, and Hakushi sent Kwang packing after overcoming the ninja on Superstars a few weeks later. Hakushi somehow jumped into a short-lived feud with Bret Hart shortly after, while Kwang assumed his most famous role as Savio Vega.
