17. Stratus Co-Hosted A Wrestling Radio Show
What do Trish Stratus and Renee Young have in common? Both are blonde and Canadian for a start, but that'd be the superficial answer. Deep down, both shared an intense burning desire to speak about the wrestling biz and share their thoughts on it. That passion led both to hosting gigs pre-WWE.
Young hosted a show called 'Right After Wrestling' on The Score Network, and Trish cut her teeth yakking for Live Audio Wrestling and on various other talk shows. That spot on LAW is particularly interesting, not least because the radio broadcast was an in-depth look at WWE (and wrestling as a whole) beyond kayfabe'd thoughts.
Trish was doing podcast analysis before that was wrestling's favourite pastime.
It was unique at the time to hear such a beautiful woman spout serious knowledge about wrestling. That's something Trish herself admitted on that aforementioned WWE 24 doc. She loved being able to turn heads for more than just her looks.
