In a recent interview, Shawn Michaels admitted that he had once contemplated jumping ship to WCW during the Monday Night Wars. If he had done that, it couldve been one of the most devastating moments for WWE, and couldve seriously turned the tide in WCWs favour. That revelation also means that WWE had only one true loyalist whod stick with Vinces promotion no matter what: The Undertaker. Though he wasnt the center of the companys feuds, nor was he the most heavily-pushed, he was a crucial player during that era. Even though many of Vinces former main event prospects left for WCW for the promise of more money and more lucrative deals, Undertaker stayed with Vince. It was also suggested recently that Undertaker contemplated jumping to WCW in 2000. Whether thats 100% true or not is debatable, but what is for certain is that the Undertaker chose to stay with WWE, and became their most loyal wrestler. Had Undertaker jumped ship at any point during the Monday Night Wars, fans wouldnt have seen some of the most legendary moments that have defined the Undertakers career, such as his HIAC matches, the Ministry of Darkness, Inferno matches, and wars with Steve Austin and Mankind, just to name a few.So while that video posted above might be a combination of script and reality, it still speaks the truth: despite being mistreated or left on the sidelines, Undertaker stayed with Vince, choosing loyalty over money. Undertaker would rather be the biggest dog in the yard than a smaller and possibly richer dog in someone elses yard.
