In late 2009, Punk's character transformed into a morally "superior" character who spent every week promoting his drug-free, alcohol-free straight-edge lifestyle, converting Luke Gallows (aka Festus) to his cause, as well as eventually Serena and Joey Mercury. Punk was depicted as a Jesus-like character who tried to "save" as many people as possible, shaving their heads in ritualistic fashion, and in one memorable moment hilariously trying to bring Darren Young into the group, but he balked when he realised that he'd have to lose his awesome hairstyle.
