And just like that another year is thoroughly in the books for World Wrestling Entertainment. And in typical Sports Entertainment fashion, the final seven days on the calendar haven't half brought with them a bucket-load of drama.
The majority of said chaotic developments manifested themselves in the unfortunate reminder of just how prevalent the current global b*stard still very much is as a number of talents tested positive coming into another major week for Vinnie Mac's empire. Far from letting the unanticipated absence of Architects, Mans, and WWE Champions, and many more, derail the scheduled episodic programming, though, the company made use of many a Zoom and FaceTime call en-route to a Day 1 PPV that looks about as stable as a WWE announce desk.
Will we actually get to see Big E put his belt on the line against three of Raw's finest? Will The Beast Incarnate actually get his hands on The Tribal Chief? Or is the late-in-the-day pre-show announcement of a Cesaro and Ricochet alliance taking on Sheamus and Ridge Holland set to become WWE's first-ever three-hour slobberknocker?
Though it still remains to be seen what comes of this January 1 2022 kick-starter, what isn't in doubt is WWE's complete lack of vision when it comes to any of the rising stars currently on their books. But here's to Toni Time invading another promotion some time soon and once again proving how out of touch Vince and the gang truly are in this day and age.
