This week saw WWE turn Friday Night SmackDown into one mighty throwback, throwing every mid-carder available into a meaningless multi-man showcase, and spending more time focusing on the men in what should be a women's feud. Oh, and the big silver fist returned... virtually. Yaaaay.

Away from a muddled attempt to exploit nostalgia, Jimmy Uso also returned to the fold and quickly found out just how short-tempered his cousin has become since planting himself at the Head of the Table. On Raw, The Viper and Stoner Connection racked up another win, Sheamus welcomed Mansoor to the flagship with a boot, and the Raw Tag Team Champions actually showed up for work. What a night.

NXT, as usual, did most of the in-ring heavy-lifting, with Sarray quickly making a name for herself as the most brutal deliverer of a dropkick in the company, and Shotzi Blackheart, Ember Moon, Candice LeRae, and Indi Hartwell single-handedly making the NXT Women's Tag Team belts mean something... all while sending each other through various objects like it was going out of fashion.

With all that action now firmly in the books, we once again find ourselves merely a week away from a major WWE show. And based on the matches already confirmed for the upcoming WrestleMania 37.5 (aka 'Mania Backlash), this B-PPV may just deliver a night that surpasses those two-nights in Tampa. Or, the Strowman Express squashes Drew and Bobby in two minutes and we buckle up for a train ride from hell.

We've still got seven more days before that disturbing pitch could become a harrowing reality, though, so here's an Instagram post of Otis posing with his dog on their birthday...
