Though the majority of fans likely expected that John Cena was going to defeat Rusev to win the U.S. Title, few people thought he'd do it with such ease. After breaking the Accolade and locking Rusev in the STF, Rusev gets to the rope, and once both are to their feet, Cena goes over to Lana, who is talking to the referee. Rusev then runs over to Cena, Cena moves, Rusev knocks Lana off the apron, and as Rusev is distracted, Cena hits him with the Attitude Adjustment, winning the match. It was a surprisingly simple way to defeat Rusev and seemed rather anti-climactic given how much his winning streak had been built up over the last year.
