26 WTF Moments From WWE Attitude Era Raw 1998 (Feb 2)

The dumpster ride from hell...

By Jack Pooley /

If there's one reason this episode of Raw will be burned into the memory of any old-school WWF fan, it's the iconic dumpster ride segment, one of the more controversial and effective moments in the early days of DX's dominance. It's always fun to pore over these classic episodes for some very un-PC signs, hilarious indicators of the time, and of course, the insane, envelope-pushing storytelling that can only be the result of one man: Vince freaking Russo. In addition, the build continues for the WWF's inaugural No Way Out pay-per-view two weeks later (or as it was known then, No Way Out of Texas), and there's further teasing for the HBK/Stone Cold match at WrestleMania, a whole two months away from the date of this show. Here are 26 WTF moments from the February 2nd, 1998 episode of Raw...

26. DX's "Enormous Genitalia"

This episode opens with a "special report" from D-Generation X, where HBK and Triple H inform the viewer that their behaviour has been sanctioned by the various networks that carry WWF Raw. As such, they promise to curb their language (resulting in a ton of censored swears from Trips), and that as it pertains to video, there will be "less references to our enormous genitalia", while Chyna rolls her eyes. Though this clip aired censored on the Raw episode, you might remember that it went out totally uncut on a DX VHS released shortly after, which makes for rather interesting viewing when juxtaposed against the current PG climate.
