3 Title Changes At WWE The Horror Show At Extreme Rules (SPOILERS)
Great champions, awful finishes.
Three major title changes went down at last night's WWE pay-per-view, the ridiculously-titled The Horror Show at Extreme Rules, with the first going down in the main card's opening match.
Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro are your new SmackDown Tag Team Champions. They defeated The New Day in one of the night's better matches and one of the few that wasn't marred by a convoluted finish, as Cesaro powerbombed Kofi Kingston through a couple of tables to win the gimmick match. The New Day's reign ended at 93 days.
With Apollo Crews seemingly rendered unable to compete after suffering an injury by Bobby Lashley and MVP's hands a few weeks ago, MVP declared himself the new United States Champion, having previously claimed the shiny new belt as his own. Apparently the wrestlers are the authority figures now.
Later, Sasha Banks "defeated" Asuka to win the RAW Women's Championship. A fantastic match concluded with 'The Empress of Tomorrow' accidentally misting the referee. Bayley then nailed Asuka with the belt, took the official's shirt, decided that she was in charge, and counted the three.
Elsewhere, Drew McIntyre successfully defended the WWE Title against Dolph Ziggler and Bayley beat Nikki Cross, retaining the SmackDown Women's Championship.
