An action-packed edition of AEW Rampage with one terrifying bump and a load of bull!
Matt and Jeff Hardy are in a strange place heading into 2024, but so is AEW Rampage.
The iconic brothers find themselves stranded in a creative no man's land, so it'll be interesting to see if they plan on making moves or seeking a higher-profile role in the new year. Of course, things have changed since the daredevils were flying off ladders or crashing through tables. It's clear just by watching The Hardys wrestle that they're not physically capable of rekindling the glory days.
That's not meant as damning criticism - it's just life. Rampage itself has been struggling to match the (brief) CM Punk-led highs of yesteryear ever since that happened. The show is barely trundling along as an ongoing weekly concern for most wrestling fans, and yet there is still something to be gleaned by checking it out.
AEW's core strengths come via matches, and Rampage still offers up action-packed All Elite bouts if you can't get enough elsewhere. Some scary moments, both in terms of company creative and hair-raising botches, threatened to spoil the show this time out though. Thankfully, both were minor inconveniences at best.
