4. Coming Up Short
It really is a shame Nikki Bella doesn’t have the goods to back up her resume in the ring or on the mic, because on its face, she should be a white-hot heel.
Consider: A Hall-of-Famer and multi-time women’s champion who built a celebrity brand outside the ring returns to WWE to reclaim her past glory, constantly reminding everyone that she still looks every bit the legend she was when she left as a full-timer nearly a decade ago.
But Nikki’s promo Monday night was once again the devoid-of-emotion drivel we’ve come to expect, saying nothing of substance. And we’ve already seen Bella versus Stephanie Vaquer, and there was nothing there to project anticipation for that match. The only intriguing factor is how Raquel Rodriguez and the bubbling-up Judgment Day strife plays into this triple threat next week.
The only positive here is that Bella is a Philadelphia Eagles fan (and reportedly dating a current player), so this Birds fan will take that.
