3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 10)
1. The Follow-Up Match
Things may not have been so bad had Naomi and Lacey Evans managed to cobble a decent match out of their karaoke nonsense, but that didn't happen either. Dana Brooke and Tamina stayed around ringside for some reason, and they ended up getting involved for a non-finish two minutes in.
Whoop-de-doo.
This was not good TV at all. The singing malarky was bad enough, but then WWE made Naomi and Lacey flounder around working hokey dress spots with cat-fight-like brawling. They both came across as Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco at the 2000 King Of The Ring more than key talents in some important women's division.
It really cannot be stressed enough how much damage these segments do to the credibility of characters who were positioned as title challengers just months ago. This wasn't fun, it wasn't well-produced and it made everyone look stupid.
