3-Way Universal Title Match Expected For WWE Royal Rumble 2018
Lesnar vs. Kane vs. Strowman on January 28th?
Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE Universal Championship against both Braun Strowman and Kane at Royal Rumble 2018, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
The trio will face off for the gold on January 28th, with Lesnar a likely victor, given that he's expected to wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34. The coming weeks will likely see 'The Beast' enter the ongoing Strowman vs. Kane feud, which has been simmering since TLC.
The bout's first seeds were sown last night. Kane and Braun fought in a number one contender's match, with the winner facing Lesnar at the Rumble, but it was inconclusive. Not even five minutes had passed before the bout was ruled a double count-out after Strowman tackled his opponent through the barricade, but the brawl continued, with 'The Monster Among Men' powerslamming his foe through a table to close the show.
Strowman re-entering the title hunt is great, but the Triple Threat won't be a popular booking. Kane's latest run has been met with widescale derision from the fanbase, and he hasn't been effective in elevating Braun, whose last match with Brock was a disappointment. Here's hoping WWE know what they're doing.
