An impressive physique, while not necessarily a pre-requisite to wrestling stardom, certainly improves the chances of ones employment in the big leagues. Wrestling is an image-conscious industry and bigger is usually better, at least when it comes to muscles.
Vince McMahon is a longtime bodybuilding enthusiast and definitely prefers to see a big, jacked-up veiny guy than a smaller, more talented wrestler any day. The muscular physiques were a large reason why wrestling became so big in the 1980s and again in the late 90s.
When it comes to discussions about wrestlers' physiques, steroids will inevitably crop up. Wrestlers have used and will continue to use steroids to enhance their physique. Wrestler testimony and incidents such as the Signature Pharmacy scandal of 2007 attest to that.
But that shouldn't take away from the all of the hard work that goes into building a bigger and better body. You can take all of the steroids in the world but it doesn't mean anything unless you put in the hours at the gym and diet properly. These guys clearly take their appearance seriously and are very dedicated when it comes to training.
There are a lot of impressive physiques to choose from when looking back at the guys that have worked for WWE, but these thirty take some beating.
