All that was brilliant about WrestleMania 21 felt new; new coronated and prospective headline acts in John Cena, Batista and Edge, new gimmick attractions, new means of humiliating the Big Show, and new storytelling devices that would support WWE in the years to come, with the true advent of the Undertaker’s Streak and Shawn Michaels’ popularised, agonised, will-he-won’t-he tap out spot.

Truly, this was WWE climbing the ladder towards its new future.
