If you've never seen a King of the Mountain match, then good luck keeping up with this one, because TNA didn't make much of an effort to explain the rules beforehand for newcomers or those who've been out of the loop for a while. With every wrestler needing to become "eligible" to win the match by first scoring a pinfall or submission, it probably would've made sense for the TNA Tron to keep a running score of who is eligible, as it must've been rather confusing for the live crowd, not to mention folks at home. Plus, wouldn't it be so much more fun if the belt was constantly in play and didn't need to be retrieved from the referee each time?
