... and it has nothing to do with Kenny Omega.

Regular - and frequently accurate - rumour-mongers WrestleVotes have dropped if not quite a bombshell, then at least the suggestion of a bombshell, ahead of tonight's Royal Rumble PPV.

The wrestling insiders tweeted that WWE "may" have a "big" surprise waiting in the wings in Phoenix tonight, but refused to elaborate on the suggestion as the company are not 100% certain on it going ahead, and - most intriguingly - the prospect is so monumental that it deserves a "genuine reaction."

One thing WrestleVotes did clarify in a subsequent Tweet was that this has absolutely "nothing to do with Kenny Omega." New Japan's Omega is largely expected to confirm his involvement with upstarts All Elite Wrestling in the coming weeks.

Obviously, there's not much to go on here, but WrestleVotes' largely positive track record means it is definitely something to get excited about, maybe. We just don't know what it is.

Speculation has already been circulating that Roman Reigns could make an incredible, early return to the ring for a quick cameo. If that is the case, it's very difficult to imagine a surprise entrant more deserving of a genuine reaction.

Then again, it could just as easily be James Ellsworth. Guess we'll just have to watch and find out.
