"Young Rock" Renewed By NBC For Season Two

The Rock's hit comedy show "Young Rock" will be getting a second season on NBC.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's "Young Rock" comedy series has been renewed for a second season.

As reported by Deadline, NBC have renewed their Tuesday night comedy block, which features "Young Rock" and "Kenan".

Focusing on Johnson and the story of his life, "Young Rock" sees the former WWE Champion narrate throughout as we journey through his younger years, from growing up as the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson to his time attempting to break into football.

NBC have made it known that "Young Rock" was the No. 2 new comedy of the season in the always important 18-49 demographic, with the sitcom's pilot also reeling in a whopping 13.4 million viewers. It was also the network's top comedy debut across all digital platforms on record through 60 days, securing 3.6 million digital views.

The show's first season was produced by Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions, Universal Television, and Fierce Baby Productions, and was also assisted by WWE Studios. Alongside The Rock, Nahnatchka Khan, Jeff Chiang, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, Brian Gewirtz and Jennifer Carreras all acted as executive producers for the series' first season.

Speaking about the confirmation of both "Young Rock" and "Kenan" both being renewed, President of Scripted Programming at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming Lisa Katz had this to say:
