Barrett's the only one in the tournament who could pull off the crown and cape. Hell, he already walked out with a cape during his entrances. His commanding voice works great for this as well, and Barrett has the look and stature of a conqueror. His finisher is simple but effective, and he could easily do something like put his foot on some jobber's chest for the pinfall as he raises a fist and counts along with the referee. He doesn't even have to become King Barrett and ditch Bad News to go forward with this gimmick. He could be The King of Bad News, which would give him more to work with on the microphone as he holds court. Give him a more menacing crown and put him over with a reign of terror as he brings bad news to the peasants of the land. It doesn't have to be one or the other. One problem that WWE has is that too many of their characters are too one-dimensional. Allowing Barrett to do both the Bad News and king gimmick would make him stand out from other King of the Ring winners who also played royalty.
