3. Another Forgotten Gem

Last week, we were treated to Ace Austin and Trey Miguel's clash over the X Division Championship from the first Hard To Kill pay-per-view this past January. It's a match that often gets overlooked, sadly, but it's a match you should wholeheartedly go out of your to watch as it's a hidden gem from Impact's tumultuous 2020.

As was Ace's bout with Willie Mack from part one of Rebellion.

At the time of writing, Mack just isn't fitting in. His rivalry with Moose has dragged on (surely their I Quit Match at Genesis will be the end of proceedings), and it's, quite unfortunately, affected his credibility. That's why looking back to a time where he was on top of the company was needed right now. We know 'Chocolate Thunder' can do great things in Impact Wrestling when he's allowed to, and when paired with 'The One True Ace' on the promotion's first show in the empty arena era, he screamed huge star.

It was the perfect time for Ace to drop the title, as he had reigned as champion since the previous October, with the loss allowing him to slot perfectly into the World Championship picture. Having Willie be the man to dethrone him rose him up the card at a time he needed it. Pal Rich Swann was on the shelf at this point, so Mack desperately needed something to get him over as a solo act. This win achieved that for a period.
