Finally, to finish off this week's show, Kevin Owens beat Cody Rhodes and Johnny Gargano in another fine 3-way. Thankfully, they could avoid the pin-stealing trope due to Randy Orton’s interference. For the record, that was obvious, but obvious booking isn’t the same as bad booking. After all, why wouldn’t Randy pop up to stick it to Cody when they’ve been feuding, y’know?

Being brutally honest, Gargano kinda felt like the odd man out in all of this without Sami Zayn around, but he worked hard and grew into things; Johnny even had a nice spot when he used Cody’s momentum to crack Owens in the balls. Of course, he was never going to topple stars like KO or Cody and power through to Money In The Bank.

Owens winning made sense given Gargano’s ongoing story with Sami and Cody’s with Orton. Both of Kev's opponents here have other things to concentrate on, but he really only had the ladder match. In a sweet sentimental touch, Owens wore a black armband for Ben 'PAC' Satterley. He also looked to the heavens during his entrance and seemed highly emotional after scoring the win.

Kevin likely dedicated his performance on Friday to an old friend.

There was a lot to like as WWE closed the Triple Threat series with a bang. Another hot grudge bout pitting Rhodes vs. Orton is incoming, and Gargano can probably chew Sami out for refusing to help him as a return favour for all the aid 'Johnny Wrestling' has given the WWE Champ.
