What was the saddest moment from the disparate Bret Hart/Vince McMahon misfire?
Was it Bret's inability to effectively explain the giant ruse that saw every Hart Family member turn on McMahon before the bell rang? Was it because the fans were so acceptant that they'd be willing to take McMahon's millions in the first place? Was it where Bret Hart teased the Sharpshooter for the first time (earning an enormous pop in the process) only to return to needlessly beating on Vince further?
Was it all of the above? Was it that mere discussion of this match can devolve into its own "Saddest Moment" list?
The match had been fantasy booked since the second 'The Hitman' sparked the Chairman after his post-Montreal Screwjob shower. It was set to carry symmetry and catharsis - spark him again with a hard right before drawing his screams with a Sharpshooter. It was instead a tragic and unfitting send-off to their largely enjoyable WrestleMania resumés.
