Edge's middling victory over Alberto Del Rio turned out to be his final ever WrestleMania, but a World Heavyweight Championship opener wasn't exactly the fitting sendoff the 'Rated-R Superstar' may have preferred.

Del Rio had won the first ever 40-man Royal Rumble in order to earn his "main event" opportunity, but the pair's rivalry had been shunted way below The Miz and John Cena's activities the second The Rock returned.
With involvement from Christian and Brodus Clay, the otherwise-ordinary action was enhanced, but a nothing encounter for a supposed top title highlighted exactly why the Brand Extension was realistically about as dead as Del Rio's potential of ever headlining the 'Show Of Shows'.
