It's that time of the week, and what better way to keep the engines fired up and rolling towards the weekend (and the opening of Jurassic World - dinosaurs dinosaurs dinosaurs) than the all-too-brief weekly peek into the NXT training grounds? This week saw a whole bunch of angles being addressed, from Evil Emma's continued dominance, Bull Dempsey's character taking a somewhat strange new twist, and, of course, the in-ring debut of Samoa Joe. As usual, it was a show of ups and downs. While the NXT champ is arguably the most charismatic in the show's history, Kevin Owens having one foot in NXT and one foot in the main roster may be hurting the product. It was another week where the announcers seemed a little more pre-occupied with the upcoming WWE PPV than they were with the action playing out in front of them, and when that action's Samoa Joe's freakin' debut ... then we've got a problem. That being said, NXT's in-ring action is always one of the highlights of the week and with SIX matches to enjoy, plus a shock announcement by William Regal to round off the show (read on to find out), this episode only served to illustrate why NXT is one of the most talked-about shows that WWE produces each week.
