4. Hyping Orton's Smackdown Return... For A Taped Promo
There was a mention on Raw that Randy Orton would be making his Smackdown return this week. Usually that sort of thing would mean it was going to be his in-ring return or he'd be out there doing some promo that would lead to a match. Nope. All they did was put him in a sit-down interview with Michael Cole. What aired during Smackdown was a five minute interview that showed highlights of Orton getting attacked by The Authority back in November. He said "something changed in me" during it. Yeah, he turned face. That interview was probably taped on Monday night. Orton wasn't even at the show. The fans that attended the taping didn't even get to see the interview. Orton ended the promo saying that he would go to Raw to say that he would challenge Rollins to a match at WrestleMania. It's another example of WWE telling you that nothing that happens on Smackdown is that important and that all you really have to do is watch Raw.
