Normally, a 35-minute opening promo(s) would be a death knell for Raw, but Mondays opening promo from the Authority, followed up by Daniel Bryans mic time was must-see stuff for fans who have endured WWEs roller-coaster programming during the past 15 months. Its proof that while wrestling is supposed to be the name of the game, if fans are invested in characters and angles, then they will sit and willingly (and attentively) watch a long promo.This doesnt mean Raw should open every week like this, and hopefully with Triple H supposedly gone, it wont be the norm. But with the big news of the Authority being ousted and Bryans surprising return, this worked well. Triple H and Stephanie managed to put over Sting and Dolph Ziggler on their way out the door too, which also made it worthwhile.
