3. Roman Reigns Won An Average Match Clean Over Big Show

The booking of Roman Reigns in the next two months is going to be key. WWE has to be smart about it because there are a portion of fans that are rejecting him as the "next big thing" so to speak. They had him interrupt a Triple H promo at the start of the show, but it didn't amount to much except Hunter putting him in a match with Big Show. It wasn't a bad idea although they have wrestled a few times before, so it didn't feel that fresh. Their match was pretty boring. They were given about 13 minutes of in-ring time. You knew Reigns was going to win, but they didn't do a great job of setting up the finish. Big Show went to the top for some weird reason, Reigns nailed him the Superman Punch two times and finished him off with a Spear. That was it. Some booed. Others cheered. It sounded like a Cena reaction. What was positive about it is that it was the right booking move. Some of us may not like Reigns too much and might feel like this push is going to fail, but if WWE believes in the guy then they absolutely have to keep giving him wins over big names like Big Show. If people reject it week after week, then WWE has to think about changing course with him. Not yet, though. It's still early. If you watch Reigns as a performer without really thinking about the push, you can see he is a very good athlete. He has a lot of potential to blossom into a star. Maybe WWE is pushing him too fast. There's no way of knowing until you give him a shot, so at least WWE made the right booking decision by making him look strong against the veteran big man the Big Show.
