If you need a guy who has a somewhat established name, is a legit MMA heavyweight, but who never made it to the UFC, then you've got James Thompson. Most hardcore MMA fans know who he is. Some of the casuals might also, and his debut in Bellator MMA, against Eric Prindle, was a success. Now calling himself "The Thinking Meathead" (will that nickname stick?), Thompson is enough of a name to draw with Lesnar on the opposite side of the cage, while still being a winnable fight for Lesnar, who has been out of the game for several years. Of course, anything can happen in MMA, and Thompson could win the fight, but most would still put their money on Lesnar.
