5. Goldberg's Return

When Bill Goldberg returned to set up his clash with Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, most fans were expecting the snarling, vein-popping Goldberg from WCW's glory days, but instead we were exposed to a side of him people didn't know existed.

Even when it is clear that many years have passed since we last saw them, old-school wrestlers are often reluctant to let their characters change with the times. So in this so-called 'reality era' with kayfabe being a shade of its former self, it was refreshing to see Golberg being open and honest about his desire to be seen as a hero again, and his doubts about whether or not he could actually still go in the ring.

Documenting this final chapter in his career would give an incredible insight into the psyche of a WWE performer. Returning to the ring after so many years away would be extremely daunting for any wrestler and Goldberg is doing so in grand style by going against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, so allowing us to see his preparation and hear more of his honesty would make engaging television.
