5 Most Bizarre Love Triangles In WWE History
5. Randy Savage/Elizabeth/George 'The Animal' Steele
Perhaps the most talked-about wrestling love triangle of the 1980s involved Randy Savage, George 'The Animal' Steele, and Elizabeth.
The storyline got going when Steele, whose character was that of a mentally distraught individual, decided to show up and kidnap Elizabeth. In truth, having a mad man appear ringside and randomly whisk a young woman away certainly qualifies as strange in of itself.
However, it was the ambiguous nature of 'The Animal's' infatuation that made the angle truly bizarre. It was never clear if Steele cared for Elizabeth in a romantic sense or if he loved her the way a small child loves their favorite teddy bear.
The triangle had the makings of a fascinatingly complex story, which 1980s wrestling fans probably wouldn't have been ready for. That being said, the legendary threesome still managed to use the quirky tale to set up a memorable WrestleMania match at least.
