2. A Hulk Hogan Tall Tale Comes True

Hulk Hogan is widely known for his patented brand of bullsh*t.

Quite literally, in one of his more fantastical fibs: he claimed he once saw André The Giant defecate in a bathtub "all the way to the taps" which, no. André was a big lad, but he wasn't a collective of farmyard animals. He also claimed that André "called" the famous WrestleMania III body slam in the ring, as if the match wasn't meticulously built for that exact finish. André died six years after 'Mania III, in reality. In Hogan's weird fantasy, he died days later. It was already legendary, Hulk. You don't need to James Dean André to put it over.

Wrestling at Madison Square Garden circa 1983 or '84, he threw his bandana into the crowd. As recounted in a very sweet Jumanji press interview with Kevin McCarthy, a young Rock was the adoring fan who caught it. This sounds straight from the academy of lies - "I trained Kenny Omega, brother!" - but this was Rock recounting the tale, and thus it has an air of some credibility.

Rock thanked Hogan backstage - and Hogan, in short supply, took the bandana back. The Ultimate Warrior knows the feeling. Still, with his stock replenished, Hogan signed the bandana and relayed it via Rock's dad, Rocky Johnson.

What a nice fella, awful racism notwithstanding.
