It seems that she does something to raise a snarl - that thing she does when she attempts to smile but fails, through not being a human being - within the wrestling fandom on a weekly basis.
Since returning as a heel in 2013, her effect on the product has done so much to drain the enthusiasm of those watching. That’s when she’s a heel; her character alignment is selective in the extreme. Basically, she turns face whenever there is scope to take credit for the accomplishments of the Women’s roster in her guise as the Rosie The Riveter of pro wrestling. With her constant cries of “First!”, she is, essentially, that absolute goon in the YouTube comments section who thinks that typing five letters the second a video is uploaded is an accomplishment.
That’s more than Stephanie ever did, in all honesty: even more destructive offscreen, Stephanie is responsible for ushering in the eras of scripted promos under the catastrophic misapprehension that failed TV writers know more about getting over than the wrestlers themselves. Ric Flair, Steve Austin, The Rock - they all shot to superstardom using their own words.
But did they ever receive a credit for According To Jim?

5. F*ck This Company
…the Wrestling Observer reports that WWE has signed Ronda Rousey to what must be an eye-watering deal purely as a platform on which to make Stephanie McMahon a star outside of wrestling.
What words to use here? This is absolutely unbelievable. Why not sign Ronda Rousey to use…Ronda Rousey as a star? Wouldn’t that make more sense? As opposed to none whatsoever?
Nobody really cares about authority figures anymore. Everybody resents Stephanie when she dares attempt to become a face. Everybody resents Stephanie in the heel role because she never gets what’s coming to her. Apart, evidently, from a Steve Austin-sized push, with Rousey operating in the Mike Tyson role. The “nerd-rage” is apparent, but really, this is absolutely hilarious. Imagine thinking that, of all of the wrestlers to push, Stephanie McMahon is most capable of penetrating the mainstream. She is so naturally detestable. The arrogance of this endeavour is astonishing.
Steph 3:16 says...a lot of venomous, prolonged bile without any comeuppance? That's a licence to print money.
If Stephanie does become a mainstream star outside of wrestling, it means she might leave wrestling to pursue an acting career. So that's a good thing. But she won’t, because she’s only ever been remotely believable in her role as a complete pr*ck.
There's a really great heel in Stephanie. She just refuses to be one.
