5 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (July 6)
5. Daniel Bryan Is Amazing
Speaking to the Gorilla Position podcast, Daniel Bryan gave a resounding NO! NO! NO! to an incredibly optimistic question. Asked whether he would be "up for" a programme with The Miz that builds toward and is settled at WrestleMania 35, Bryan had the following to say:
"You ask me that question. I will answer it with a question. Do you trust WWE with telling that story from now until WrestleMania 35? HAHAHAHAHA! What in the last several years has shown to you that something like that is possible here?"
This was absolutely glorious. The man literally laughed in the face of the notion of WWE - his employer! - doing something worthwhile with him. The interviewer in response made reference to WrestleMania XXX. Bryan reminded him that the events of April 6, 2014 were a complete "accident" that followed a convergence of incredible, once-in-a-lifetime factors. WWE's broken clock isn't even right twice a day, and Bryan knows it.
To answer his question, what in the last several years has shown to you that something like that is possible in WWE?
Consider this time last year. On the July 10, 2017 RAW, Bray Wyatt defeated Seth Rollins in the main event. Nowadays, Rollins is on a tear, and Wyatt is meandering in an unfunny and repetitive tag team feud, holding the RAW gold with only slightly more credibility than a small child. A week later, The Revival scored a win over the Hardy Boyz, and Bayley defeated Alexa Bliss.
Where are these winners now?
HAHAHAHAHA!
