6 Reasons Why Canadians Should Be Excited About WWE Network

It's finally rolling out August 12th!

By John Canton /

It was announced this past week that WWE will be introducing WWE Network in Canada thanks to a deal that they made with Rogers Communications. Since WWE Network launched in February in the United States only, those of us in Canada and around the world have wondered when we were going to get it. Here's what WWE shared in the release that was sent out on Thursday: "Rogers will be the exclusive distribution partner of all WWE pay-per-view events throughout Canada and will sponsor an application to the CRTC to bring the popular WWE Network to Canada. Starting August 12th, a preview of WWE Network content, including live WWE pay-per-view events, groundbreaking original series, live in-ring action, reality shows and a video-on-demand library, will be available on a subscription basis on Rogers Channel 512. Rogers will offer this WWE Network content preview subscription to all cable, satellite and IPTV providers across Canada." That's all the info about WWE Network coming to Canada for now, but there are a lot of fans that wonder what it really means. Basically, it's not going to be like the US version that is only online. The Canadian version will be a channel on television and will have a library although we don't know exactly what will be on there at the beginning. It's expected that it won't have as much content as the current US version, but they will slowly be adding to it. The WWE Network launching in Canada should really be considered a positive bit of news because we've been waiting for it for the past six months. Canadians love WWE. It's the wrestling company we grew up on. Now we can get even more access to it. As a Canadian writer here at WhatCulture.com, I've decided to take a look at seven reasons why Canadian wrestling fans should be excited about WWE Network launching in Canada on August 12.
