5 Stars Who Should Be Thrilled Triple H Is In Charge Of WWE (And 5 Who Should Be Worried)
With a new regime brings new opportunities. It also brings new barriers.
The wrestling world has had a hell of a shake-up.
As reports of discontent and poor communication behind the scenes of AEW are appearing, they have been overwhelmed by the literal shake-up at the top of WWE. For years, fans had been begging for Triple H to be given the top job in handling the creative process.
Yes, his NXT eventually floundered, and whilst some of that was his own fault, it must have been difficult when his top stars were cherry-picked out of the blue by an out-of-touch owner who didn't even watch the show. At its peak, NXT was the wrestling show, and not only did Hunter compile an exciting roster, but he also gave us some truly engaging storylines as well.
Fans clamoured for NXT to be the blueprint for WWE, with the Game clearly having his finger on a pulse that Vince McMahon had long given up looking for.
Now, with the Cerebral Assassin being appointed as Head of Creative for WWE, a number of superstars must be rubbing their hands together at the prospect of a better opportunity. The WWE Hall of Famer invested a lot in what he believed to be WWE's future, and there may be a few people who will have to step aside for that to happen...
10. Worried - Roman Reigns
Let's start off with a controversial choice.
Roman Reigns is, without a doubt, the biggest star in WWE. However, his reduced schedule and stranglehold over the two belts are hurting the company. Having Premium Live Events without a title bout is not something Triple H will agree with, especially considering the importance he put on being the top guy when he was the one holding it.
During the ‘Reign of Terror’, for better or worse, the former Terra Ryzing made sure he was on every show and played a prominent role. Yes, his promos became formulaic and he was no longer at his in-ring best, but he understood the importance of his role.
The show suffers when the top guy isn’t there.
Considering Roman Reigns has both top titles currently held hostage, it’s not hard to envisage there are plans being made to quickly alleviate him of at least one of them. This means at some point soon, most likely Clash of the Castle, Roman Reigns’ dominance will be splintered.
Reigns will continue to be a top star, but will Triple H want to continue giving him so much when the man clearly has ideas away from the industry that The Game loves so dearly? It will be interesting to see.
