Continuing the theme of surprising appearances this weekend was none other than NXT Godfather, Triple H. Appearing in front of the live crowd on the Saturday, The Game was greeting by a huge pop from the Download faithful and the opening power chord by Motorhead instantly erupted the crowd into a frenzy.

While Triple H also appeared on the festivals Main Stage to accept the Spirit of Lemmy Award, it was a nice touch by WWE to have such as big name on-hand at the NXT stage and his appearance in the ring instantly added credibility to the event as a legitimate wrestling show and not just an opportunity to give emerging talent a run out in front of a live audience.

The appearance of The Cerebral Assassin also highlighted the near schizophrenic levels of Triple Hs totally polarising characters. Despite being billed as a huge heel on mainstream WWE television, Triple H still appears as a massively over babyface whenever he appears in NXT, which only continues to confuse and split the fans.

With an on-air return likely in time for this years SummerSlam card, it will be intriguing to see how WWE approach this growing issue as we head into the second biggest show of the calendar.
