5 Times WWE Dropped the Ball With Epic Storylines

5. Triple H vs. CM Punk

For me, the CM Punk and Triple H feud could have lasted much longer, and it was pretty much over before it had started. I thought this feud would have been a perfect opportunity for Triple H as the authority figure to turn heel at some point, aligning with Kevin Nash. Now some would argue that the heel authority figure vs. the face champion would be a simple rehash of McMahon vs Austin, but Punk and Triple H are two completely different characters, and I feel that with a decent run, this storyline could have been a success. I€™ve always preferred Triple H as a heel and Punk was the most talked about guy at the time. Unfortunately, the storyline ended somewhat prematurely. It left Triple H ultimately feuding briefly with Kevin Nash. I think it€™s fair to say that not many people cared too much about this feud. It seemed pointless. By all means, Nash could have been an important component in a lengthier Punk and Triple H feud which would have been much more of a success. Punk went on to feud with Alberto del Rio, another feud which the majority of the WWE audience were indifferent to. It doesn€™t help that del Rio€™s push to the main event hasn€™t exactly worked out the way WWE officials probably expected. I think many people share my opinion in that del Rio is quite tedious and just a poor man€™s JBL.
