5 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (4 Sept)
1. Breaking Out
Jordan Myles only needed one decent nearfall against Adam Cole to make this main event a worthy conclusion to NXT's intriguing Breakout Tournament mass newcomer introduction device.
Thanks to the leader of the Undisputed Era he got much, much more.
With Cole understandably arrogant in the extreme early doors, Myles fought back bravely on the sell, forcing the Champion into taking him far more seriously in the final third.
A frog splash had Full Sail buying the miracle before Cole countered a Midnight Star and spammed him with superkicks to set up a match-winning Last Shot.
This was fantastic stuff from Champion and Challenger - a brilliant advocate for the brand just shy of the big move. More moments like this will stand it in good stead as it prepares for war.
