Longtime fans, viewers, and critics of WWE have to acknowledge the company is in a very strange situation these days. They have mastered the uncanny ability to constantly turn chicken s**t into chicken salad.

Let’s explain: WWE is a red-hot product right now. Even when they’re not firing on all cylinders and are putting out middling content, they still are filling arenas, driving strong ratings, and popping fans. The Bloodline saga is past its sell-by date for many fans, but it still generates some of the biggest reactions on either show. The Wyatt Sick6 should have fell flat on its face, but it remains a popular act in the arenas each week.

Monday’s offering provided fans with Damian Priest readying himself for a battle against Gunther, with mostly positive results. It saw the Wyatts finally get thumped… by the Final Testament and the Miz. The show closed with a series of run-ins at the end of the women’s tag title match that felt more contrived as each woman entered the fray.

However, Raw also featured the next chapters in the Bloodline and New Day sagas, two storylines that generate some serious interest amongst fans. Both stories are layered and are chugging towards a climax later this month. Raw also gave Damian Priest some shine and welcomed Dakota Kai back from injury.

All told, WWE turned in yet another solid if unspectacular show, good enough to advance a few angles and keep your attention for two hours, but not a seminal program that will be remembered for months and months.

Let’s get to it…
