The best promo in All Elite Wrestling might be even better when he’s in recovery mode.

MJF gave one of the most powerful speeches of his career following a seminal victory over Darby Allin at Full Gear 2021, and though this had more of his familiar sh*thouse flavour than that, it carried the energy and verve of a man absolutely believing that he’s the very best in the world at all of this. As well he should.

The long story short is that the entitled pr*ck crashed his car while receiving oral sex, then shifted his severely injured partner into the drivers seat before the police arrived so he wouldn’t suffer the consequences. Naturally, he wasn’t the loser of his own story - he framed this as putting over his survival instincts and will to win as if he was Bret Hart finally overcoming his father in the dungeon.

Heinous, despicable, and yet more warped backstory for a character with a mythology that’s frankly not credited enough.
