That's not the biggest problem with these matches anyway.

ROH Pure rules matches are a poor fit for regular TV. Rampage bouts tend to hit commercial just a few minutes in, which instantly sucks fans out of the tactical battle these scraps are supposed to be. Komander used one of his three rope breaks during a pic-in-pic ad break too, which sucks.

Those rope breaks are supposed to be a huge deal in ROH Pure Title defences, but one of only three legal breaks was totally glossed over because ads were hogging the screen. That didn't sit well considering the fact Komander using up all of his rope breaks played into the actual finish of the match.

Being honest, this Wheeler Pure Title reign is a miss so far. He isn't coming across as a big star, and the matches are pretty lifeless. AEW wants to put over his cheating ways, but even that is falling flat due to refs ignoring him being a rotten cheat.

Where's the logic?
