5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (June 22)
Ups...
5. The Forbidden Door Swings Wide Open
...But divisive discourse calls for a debate with two sides.
AEW Dynamite remains a show that reflects the good and bad of its booker. Tony Khan wears his tastes on his sleeve, and for the longest time, there was a charm to the show playing host to any and every wrestler you could possibly imagine working matches you'd never dare dream into existence.
This show didn't have the spark or wide-eyed possibilities of Summer 2021's dream match possibility overload, but Excalibur's weekly breathless graphic narration spoke to the scope of the company's ambition. Or screamed it at you at 100mph.
On that - his rundown has now become a weekly meme, with somebody guaranteeing themselves easy numbers by clipping the chaos for those that don't keep up on the reg. Has this now become intentional and shrewd? Just under 40,000 views on that video at time of writing, and climbing. You might not be watching Rampage nor up on Sunday's card, but there's one easy way to keep abreast of all of it.
