5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 18)
More House Of Black goodness; Aubrey Edwards gets laid out; AEW sprints through a "dream match".
Eddie Kingston was like a kid at Christmas when he was trading strikes with Japanese legend Jun Akiyama on Full Gear's 'go home' episode of AEW Rampage. That was in a tag bout, so one can only imagine what Eddie will be like when he gets Jun one-on-one during the pre-show before Saturday's pay-per-view.
The excitement was visible and lovely, but AEW had to go and spoil the moment by slavishly submitting to the absolute worst thing about Rampage: TNT's pesky picture-in-picture ads. Oh yes, this article will never stop whinging about that when it ruins a match that's supposed to be historic and super-important, which this was.
What about the rest of the show though?
It was a mixed bag. Hook looked the best he ever has in-ring, Ricky Starks got some underdog babyface spotlight and Aubrey Edwards even took a bump Earl Hebner would be proud of, but there was bad stuff too. Namely, some really uninteresting feuds and a proper production snafu.
Here's all the good and bad from Tony Khan's last creative stop off before Full Gear.
