5 Ups & 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 10)
Raw kills women's wrestling with bad decisions, WWE Title feud limps along.
If you are simply counting the numbers here, Monday’s episode of WWE Raw might seem like it was decent. But the numbers don’t tell the whole story.
Raw was not good. Its two main storylines – both triple threats (where the champion doesn’t have to be pinned to lose their title!) – were horrifically built, though the women’s title match really was insultingly bad. In fact the women’s division right now should probably be torpedoed and begun anew. Don’t let any wrestlers go, just stop booking them for a month, fire anyone associated with writing their storylines, and give a fresh start after some time as a palate cleanser.
The WWE Championship feud has been lackluster overall, though if booked properly, Sunday’s title match could be a barnburner hoss fight, so there’s always that. But the booking leading up to the PPV has been less than inspired.
Of note was a bad botch outside the ring when Humberto Carrillo tried a sunset bomb off the apron to Sheamus, but the Celtic Warrior landed on Carrillo’s leg, which ended the match right there. Here’s hoping neither man is seriously hurt.
Other than that, the PPV should have some good wrestling on it. It’s just a shame Raw’s main feuds are just poorly booked.
