3. Where Has Nese Been?
Before his match against Anthony Bennett, Tony Nese was described by the announcers as having a chip on his shoulder because he felt that he deserved to be in the Cruiserweight Classic and should have been recognized by WWE for his talents sooner.
After watching Nese’s power and speed on display Wednesday night, it’s safe to say that that is a fair assessment, and he has reason to have a chip. Nese laid in a series of strikes on Bennett early on and constantly showed off his strength and agility throughout the match. Nese’s slingshot from the outside to a quebrada inside the ring was pretty impressive, as was his 450-degree splash for the win.
Considering Nese’s physique (he’s built well), look and age (30), you have to believe he’ll get a shot in the new WWE Cruiserweight Division if he wants it.
