5 Ups And 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 15)

1. The New Day vs. The Dudleyz And Dean Ambrose Rocked The House

It may have made little sense that he did so, but fans really enjoyed seeing Dean Ambrose team with The Dudley Boyz on Smackdown. The New Day were the opponents for the fresh-feeling trio, and the match was highly entertaining. All-in-all, the action only lasted a little over 6 minutes in length, but it felt like one of the most exciting WWE matches of the week. People responded well to the various near falls, most notably one which came shortly before the end. Rolling up Bubba Ray, it really seemed like Kofi Kingston had stolen one for his team. Then, out of nowhere, Xavier Woods clocked his rivals with his trombone, meaning Ambrose and The Dudleyz won by disqualification. It would have been interesting to see what all 6 men could have done with just 5 more minutes, but the bout didn't suffer from being as brief as it was. Instead, it was wall-to-wall action, and it had some fans out of their seats in the final few minutes. That's a good sign that fans care about all the performers involved, and there's nothing wrong with booking crazy matches like this one. It ended the program with a bang.
