2. Worn-Out Crowd, Wrestlers
This episode of Raw was taped immediately after last week’s live Raw (since they were on the West Coast, last week’s episode ended at 8pm local time, so they just powered through). And it really showed.
The in-ring action was pedestrian throughout, with no matches really standing out as anything special. Most matches were decent, but they were forgettable and had next-to-zero heat with fans. (Sure, there was some piped-in crowd noise, but it definitely didn’t feel like a typical episode of Raw.)
You almost wish WWE would just recognize that holiday episodes rarely click and figure out something different. Maybe it’s a 90-minute or two-hour episode with some other content to fill the remainder of the USA time slot. But a six-hour taping clearly wore out the fans and the wrestlers.
