3. McIntyre First To Reference Rumble
We’re getting closer to WrestleMania season, which officially kicks off with the Royal Rumble matches.
So when Drew McIntyre name-dropped the Rumble and declared that he was going to win it, you couldn’t help but get a little giddy. It was the first time someone has really announced that they’re taking aim at the annual match to earn a world title shot at Mania.
And McIntyre mentioning it added a little something, as Drew has to be a prohibitive favorite early on. He’s been booked strongly since returning to WWE, and while it might not be a lock by any stretch, you wouldn’t be wrong to think there’s a chance McIntyre could be in line for a title match at WrestleMania.
For now though, he’s just the first guy to prognosticate his win in the Rumble.
